CEREMONY: Ex-MORBID ANGEL, EMPEROR Members Collaborate On New Music
April 28, 2002CEREMONY, the reformed death metal group that currently features in its ranks ex-MORBID ANGEL bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker, DISASTRONAUT guitarist Greg Reed, and former EMPEROR drummer Trym, are currently working on material for a demo, which they will use to procure a record deal for the group. Former NEVERMORE and current CANNIBAL CORPSE guitarist Pat O'Brien, who was a member of CEREMONY during its early incarnation, may rejoin the band as well, “but he is touring [with CANNIBAL CORPSE] at the moment and we haven't had a chance to talk [about him coming back to the group],” Tucker told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. The bassist—who has relocated back to Ohio following his split with MORBID ANGEL—added that “I am extremely excited about working with Trym, He is a brilliant drummer!! And playing with Greg is excellent. It is like we picked up where we left off. It is very natural, and he is an amazing guitarist to say the least.”
As soon as the band have secured a record deal, they will set about recording the follow-up to last year's The Days Before The Death EP on Hammerheart Records (a four-track release that contained songs written and recorded back in 1992),which will include all-new material and will likely surface in early 2003.
